MURPHY LAB

The current research focus of the Murphy Lab surrounds health outcomes and health services research with projects focusing on optimizing quality of care, enhancing provider education, eliminating health disparities, as well as health economics research.  Ongoing collaborations include partnership with epidemiologists, biostatisticians, health services researchers, and clinicians from across UC San Diego and other institutions around the country.

Our research focuses on a wide range of cancer projects involving partnership with epidemiologists, biostatisticians, health services researchers, and clinicians across UC San Diego and other institutions around the country. Ongoing projects study large cohorts of patients where we focus on patient-specific health outcomes, comparative effectiveness research, cost-effectiveness research, and the study of innovative approaches to harness the expanding capacity of big data. We provide training, education, and mentorship for students, residents, and post-doctoral scholars interested in health outcomes and health services research. Ultimately we aim to produce results that improve the health and well-being of all cancer patients.
