Dr. Hoisak is currently the lead physicist at the 4S Ranch satellite center, and maintains a clinical focus on external beam radiation therapy including deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) for left-sided breast cancer, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for lung, spine and liver, and optical surface image guided stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). He serves as the technical lead for the Department of Radiation Medicine's Sarcoma and Bone site group.

Dr. Hoisak's research interests include cloud-based data-driven quality assurance tools, automated treatment planning, and deformable image registration software. His current research focus is on the integration of tools for image-based therapy response assessment into the clinical workflow.

Dr. Hoisak is a lecturer for the UC San Diego physics residency program and leads a small-group problem solving course designed to prepare residents for board examination. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys trail running, snowboarding, and hiking the Sierra Nevada.
