Dr. Simpson is a member of the Gastrointestinal Disease Team, specializing in novel approaches to the treatment of GI cancer, and oversees a research lab within the Altman Clinical Translational Research Institute (CTRI).

Dr. Simpson has considerable experience in the use of a wide variety of radiotherapy treatment approaches including IMRT, IGRT, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). He oversees the liver stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) program, treating both primary and metastatic liver tumors.

His research interests include novel imaging techniques, immunotherapy and adaptive radiotherapy. In particular, he is overseeing a clinical trial evaluating the response assessment of novel magnetic imaging techniques in patients with rectal cancer.
