Dr. Sandhu is the Lung Cancer Section Chief as well as an active member of the Prostate Cancer Treatment Team. He also serves as Assistant Vice-Chair for Veteran Administration (VA) Affairs, overseeing the Department’s relationship with the San Diego VA Medical Center. In this role, he serves on multiple VA Committees and Tumor Boards, and participates in National VA conferences.

An expert in lung Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), a cutting-edge treatment approach in early stage primary lung cancers as well as in select metastatic tumors to the lung, Dr. Sandhu has been named a Top Doctor multiple times by the San Diego Magazine. His many contributions to the RMAS Department have been recognized by his being named the inaugural RMAS Distinguished Senior Faculty member. He has published multiple outcome studies, focused on the treatment of patients with lung and prostate cancers.
